Well some of you will have noticed that I have had the flu for the past three days…who would have thought, in October?
*This is the part where I weigh in with a funny fact about the flu, but when I googled ‘Funny facts about the flu’ it came up with statements about death*…
Tuesday ended up being a really good day, by the end I had got myself in some sort of order. Working so much means falling behind on the admin side of things. Honestly, most people just think I perform at events, they don’t realise that there is so much other stuff that comes with running a business.
Wednesday I was going to get up at 7:30am and get lots done, have a personal training session at 9am, get more done, and then go to college for the rest of the day (until 8:30pm)…but when I woke up, I felt like death. My head was so heavy, and my throat felt like it had been slashed with razor blades and then someone had smeared vinegar on the sores (ye, that would really hurt). I spent the majority of the day sleeping and trying to eat. Nothing got done that day.
Thursday was another unproductive day…spent sleeping and eating. I got up at 12noon to a visitor, and by the time my visitor had gone I was completely wiped out. So 5pm I thought, ‘I’ll go to bed for a nap, and feel good enough to get some work done when I wake up’……10:20pm I finally woke up….well, that was more like a nights sleep than a nap. I did feel brighter when I woke up, so I forced myself to eat….later falling asleep at 2:30am
This morning I woke up feeling able to get stuff done….still looking and feeling terrible but my head was clear enough to focus for a little bit. In fact, I was woken by the post man singing outside my bedroom window, which put a smile on my face 🙂 Brian I think he’s called. One of the other post men says he’s so annoyingly happy every morning in the office haha. Well, that started my day with a bit of cheer. To be honest, I needed to get out of the house for a bit as I’d been stuck there for two whole days, in bed. I did need some things from Doncaster (Dior Counter) so I thought if I nipped out first then i’d be able to come home, and get some work done. How wrong was I…that little trip out totally wiped me out. But I had 79 emails, 63 private facebook messages and a pile of post to get through. Like a trooper I gave myself an hour to recuperate and eat, and then I got my head down and got some work done.
I almost managed to get through all of my e-mails….still got all those messages on facebook though. Social media does NOT make life easy haha. Well this is turning into a bit of an essay.
I have a busy weekend ahead. Leaving at 8am in the morning with Mikey my lighting and sound engineer to Cedar Court Hotel in Huddersfield to perform for The Pink Link event. It’s 12noon-midnight the event, and there’ll be loads of people there that I know. Can’t wait. I’m staying over tomorrow night as I’m performing in Wakefield on Sunday, well I’m exhibiting at Nostell Priory Wedding Fair 12noon-4pm. it’s beautiful, I played at a wedding there a couple of months ago and the weather was perfect. If you’re getting married, pop down and say hi, have a listen, it’s free entry.
Must get my head down, still feel really rough and have to be on top form for my performances this weekend. I’ve managed not to take any medicines so far, but might have no choice tomorrow.
